Choosing Between a Vape Pen or Mod
When you start vaping, there are many things to consider: Which flavors to choose; how much concentration of nicotine you prefer; which brand of premium e-liquid is best for you; should you use a closed system or open system device; and should you vape using a vape pen or a mod? To a novice vaper, choosing between a vape pen and a mod can be a bit of a task, but here are some things to consider when making your decision.
Simply put, a vape pen is a type of e-cigarette. They come in various sizes, from the actual size of a pen to the approximate dimensions of a cigar. The user inhales vegetable glycerine or heated propylene glycol (VG or PG) and exhales the vapor it produces. There are more ingredients, but these are the major two in premium e-liquid.
Vape mods or mechanical vape mods, pack more power than a vape pen. Vape mods can produce more vapor, as well enhance e-juice flavor and improve the throat hit. However, the battery is bulkier. The same ingredients you find in vape pen e-juice you will find in e-juice for vape mods.
Vape pens tend to be more sleek than vape mods. They fit well inside your pocket without calling attention to themselves. Vape mods are bigger and have “boxier” shape. Since vape pens are relatively simpler to use, they are cheaper. But the extra cost of a vape mod means you are paying for more power in your system. Vape mods tend to be more durable for two main reasons. First, they are made from heavier, stronger materials and second, they aren’t taken traveled with as often as vape pens. Vape pens are easier to carry with you day-to-day, so the chances of you dropping it or it breaking are higher. Vape mods batteries have various settings, so you can adjust it and in turn your battery life can be extended. Vape pens do not have that option.
No matter what device you choose, there is no right or wrong answer. It is a matter of personal preference and how you plan to utilize your device.
