Vaping is Not a Gateway to Smoking Cigarettes
One of the biggest myths surrounding vaping is that it is a gateway to smoking cigarettes. It is not a definite truth. Anti-vapers herald this message far and wide, as well as use their own analyses on the topic. However, their research usually is riddled with flaws, or executed using incomplete parameters, information, and insufficient test subjects to obtain any conclusive results.
It has been well documented by smokers, former smokers and researchers alike that vaping actually helps people quit the habit, or at the very least cut down on nicotine intake. Although nicotine can be found in some premium e-liquids, cigarettes contain other harmful toxins that foster health conditions in their users.
Researchers in California conducted a study comparing the use of vapers, vapers and cigarette smokers, cigarette smokers and non-smokers/non-vapers. They concluded that many non-smokers who started vaping had no intention of smoking cigarettes; and many smokers and vapers and smokers intended to quit or cut down with the assistance of vaping. Many who only vaped were either former smokers or non-smokers to begin with. Most non-smokers/non-vapers had no interest in either activity.
This is just one of many studies carried out by researchers to dispel the myth about vaping leading to cigarette smoking. It is quite the opposite.
